hi again.

so the tour starts in roughly a week and i gotta say i'm starting to get anxious. time seems to push and pull. some weeks feel like hours and some minutes feel like years. playing with joe again will be nice.
i will fly to the east coast since i live on the west coast. i will fly overnight so as to get as much of my beauty sleep out of the way on the airplane, affording me enough energy to drive around new england and gather the crucial gear (pretty much an entire fucking drum set) that my awesomely incredible fucking friends are letting me borrow, therefore facilitating the entire tour.
then we practice.
then we eat.
then we practice.
then we poop.
then we eat again.
then we sleep.
then we poop.
then we practice.
then we eat.
then we play the first show, thus lighting the fuse of the bomb that will proceed to explode in 13 cities for 13 days.
i am especially excited for the first show because it is in amherst, MA. joe and i both grew up in that area. lots of good friends have been in touch and will be attending (hopefully).

i'm making some t-shirts. so is joe.

i liked it.

on tuesday morning i will rise at approximately 3:30AM in order to begin my 16 mile hike in yosemite national park by approximately 7AM. this is to be the longest, most physically demanding hike i will have ever attempted. but whatever. i'm pretty sure there are old ladies who could and probably have hiked it in high heels.

So here we go.
Blast off to adventure in the amazing year 400 billion!!!!!

First blog for the new and improved website. By me. Ken Kennerson. Your friend.

I’ve been living in the woods. It’s nice out here. I’m a country mouse.

Giraffes? Giraffes! is getting ready to hit the road and finally come to your town and say hello and eat your snacks. There’s no way you’re as excited as me. No way, dude.

Check out the new issue of Magnet magazine. Well, at least check out the CD that comes with it. We’re on it. We did it for you.

Now here’s a list of a few things I’m into these days…
…Hank Williams, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, sandwiches, Grizzly Bear, coffee, Trailer Park Boys (TV show out of Nova Scotia. The way they talk reminds me of my family from that area), red wine (the dryer the better), Converse All Stars (blue, high top), bikram yoga, monotremes, rare steak, raw steak, the new Secret Chiefs 3 album (songs from the new Masada song book by John Zorn), hound dogs, ambidexterity, coffee!, polka-dot bikinis, hand-rolled cigarettes, Death Metal (in particular, Psychroptic, Brain Drill), pistachios (fuckin a), not getting bitten by huge-ass spiders, The Kids in the Hall (it’s too hard to say who’s my favorite), Elvis (the King), ruminants, roses (red), scotch whiskey (with a couple of rocks), Beethoven’s piano sonatas, COFFEE!!! (oh, man), Abe Lincoln, The Bulgarian National Folk Ensemble.

Today’s word of the day is ‘obtrude.’ Here’s the definition:
1. To thrust out; to push out.
2. To force or impose (one's self, remarks, opinions, etc.) on others with undue insistence or without solicitation.

Funny? Coincidence!

Please remember to take care of yourself and the one(s) you love. Seriously.

Love,
Ken Kennerson
